BREAKING: Top APC member officially joins 2023 presidential race [PHOTOS]

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige on Tuesday officially declared his intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ngige, who unveiled his presidential ambition before a huge crowd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State, said he wants to fulfil the promises made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) when it came into power in 2015.

“Today, as I sit back to ruminate on the state of our country, I find a country led by a patriot, good-hearted leader, Muhammadu Buhari, though greatly misunderstood especially in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.

“Permit me to say that I want to get the nomination of our party and to stand on its manifesto to actualize and execute the programmes of the APC,” Ngige said.

Ngige was the governor of Anambra State from May 2003 to March 2006 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The 69-year-old joins the APC contest which already includes the likes of Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo and Rotimi Amaechi.
