MC Oluomo re-elected as Lagos road union transport workers chairman unopposed

Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has secured another term as the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

His re-election, alongside other executives, was accomplished without opposition during the 10th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference held in Lagos.

Alhaji Sulyman Ojora, the Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (Sego), serving as Treasurer, and 28 additional executive members were also elected unopposed.

Following their election, a legal ceremony officiated by Mr. Adejare Kembi formalized their assumption of office.

Expressing gratitude, Akinsanya acknowledged the support from the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the union’s national leadership. He pledged to continue implementing reforms within the union to enhance its operations.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by a Ministry of Transportation Director, Lateef Tiamiyu, commended the union for embracing a peaceful electoral process.

He highlighted the departure from past instances where NURTW leadership changes were marred by violence, saying, “Gone were the days when NURTW members took to violence to effect leadership change.”
