There seems to be a brewing crisis in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) following an alleged plot to oust the party’s national secretary, Olu Agunloye.
In a petition sent to the Inspector General of Police, Agunloye alleged that there are plots by some disgruntled individuals to force him to resign as SDP’s national secretary.
The Cable reports that some members of the SDP who are loyal to Nasir El-Rufai – a former governor who just joined the party – are canvassing for Agunloye’s resignation.
Confirming his petition to the IGP, Agunloye said someone forged a letterheaded paper threatening him to resign.
He said, “I petitioned the IG about a person who forged letterhead paper and is threatening me to resign.”
