Umahi Swears in New Commissioners 18 Days Before Tenure Expiration

In a surprising move, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has appointed four new commissioners into his cabinet, only 18 days before his tenure comes to an end after serving two terms.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the swearing-in ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers in the Government House, Abakaliki on Tuesday.

The newly appointed commissioners include Mr. Enekwachi Akpa, who was previously the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters, and Rural Development; Mrs. Obianuju Aloh, who was the former SSA to the Governor on Aviation and Technology; Mr. Emeka Nwode, who was the former SSA to the Governor on Legal Matters, and Mr. Uchenna Nwankpuma, who was a former SA to the Governor on Projects.

During the ceremony, Governor Umahi urged the newly appointed commissioners to make the most of the short time they have left in office and leave a lasting impact through their service to the state and humanity.

In addition to the commissioner appointments, the governor also inaugurated the committee members for the May 29 handover.
