POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the hooded gunmen boarded a lorry to disguise, only to open fire on passersby suspected at the popular market, Eke-Ozzi, in the council area.
The gunmen reportedly also destroyed people’s vehicles.
Apart from the two deceased victims, others sustained injuries of various degrees.

The spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, could not respond to inquiries as of the time of publishing this report.
Enugu, like other states in Nigeria’s South-east, has witnessed an increase in deadly attacks lately.
The attacks, mostly targeted at security officials and government facilities, have been attributed to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) which is agitating for a sovereign state for the Igbo-speaking people in the Southeast.
The IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is detained in Abuja where he is standing trial for terrorism.
