Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned President Bola Tinubu of what he described as an international plot to prevent him from remaining in power beyond 2027.
In a statement on Sunday signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed the United States government is allegedly working to destabilize Tinubu’s administration ahead of the next general election.
His words: “The American government doesn’t want you in 2027. There are plans to destabilize your government ahead of the next election. Don’t sleep over it; seek divine guidance and be watchful.”
The cleric, known for making political and sporting prophecies, said recent statements from Washington concerning Nigeria’s political situation suggest a possible confrontation that could unsettle the country.
He linked the alleged foreign interference to growing global concern about insecurity and religious persecution in Nigeria, warning that negligence could lead to political unrest.
Ayodele also cautioned that some internal actors may collaborate with foreign interests to frustrate Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“There are insiders working with external forces. Strengthen your government and avoid being taken by surprise,” he added.
The cleric said he had previously warned that the U.S. would form “major opposition” to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
