Wanted terrorist leader Bello Turji is a ‘dead man walking’ – Nigerian Military declares

The military high command has dismissed recent threats by notorious terrorist commander Bello Turji, labelling him a “dead man walking” after he demanded the release of his brother and others arrested by troops or risked attacking communities in Zamfara State.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, made the statement, stressing that the military remains unyielding in its mission to eliminate terrorist threats.

“From January to December 31, 2024, over 1,000 terrorist leaders, commanders, and their replacements have been neutralized in our operations.

“Bello Turji is no exception. His fate is sealed. Like others before him who threatened the military, he will meet the same end. It would be beneath us to exchange words with a terrorist,” Buba said.

The military also addressed doubts surrounding the recent precision bombing of Lakurawa terrorist enclaves on Christmas Day, which reportedly killed numerous terrorists and destroyed key logistics.

Buba urged Nigerians to disregard any contrary claims, calling them terrorist propaganda.

“The first casualty of war is truth. Terrorists and their collaborators will say anything to twist the narrative.

“But let me assure you, we are dismantling their operations and destroying their logistics. This is a war for Nigerians, and we are committed to victory,” he said.
