A video has emerged showing the lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State at the National Assembly, Chinedu Ogah, forcibly shaving off the dreadlocks of a youth in the state.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the young man was at Ogah’s compound on Monday to celebrate the yuletide when the lawmaker expressed dissatisfaction with his looks at decided to ‘punish’ him publicly by cutting off his hair with a pair of scissors. Over 2,000 people were reportedly in Ogah’s compound to come and feast.
Reacting, Chika Nwoba, Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) legislator, saying “the young man isn’t related to him”.
“This act of brigandage from a House of Representatives member goes a long way to tell you what Ikwo people are suffering from his hands. And so long as he lives and [is] active in politics, Ikwo will continue to face difficulties and crisis [sic].
“Let him try it with people who know their left from their right and see if he will not regret it,” Nwoba wrote on his known Facebook page.
