Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly expressed his disappointment after a brief encounter with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
The meeting took place at the airport in Benin City, Edo State, where the two exchanged pleasantries.
In a video that quickly went viral on social media, Portable revealed his dissatisfaction with the encounter, claiming that Obi did not offer him any financial support.
The singer remarked, “Obi cannot give us anything. Obi didn’t give us anything.”
Portable, known for his outspoken nature, compared the situation to what he believed would have been a more favourable outcome had he met President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, Tinubu would have been more generous. “If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something,” the singer stated before leaving the scene.
The encounter has sparked discussions online, with fans sharing mixed reactions to Portable’s comments.
While some have sympathised with the singer’s frustrations, others have criticised him for expecting financial handouts from political figures.
