The Nigerian government has said that it looks forward to a continued collaboration with President Donald Trump of the United States of America.
Kimiebi Ebienfa, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a congratulatory message to the 47th US president on his inauguration said the Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of the important historic ties between both countries.
Ebienfa stated Nigeria and the US shares strong ties in the areas of good governance, sustainable development, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
Also reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strategic partnership with the US government under the administration of Trump, Ebienfa said the country looks forward to continued collaboration to addressing global challenges facing it.
He said, “Nigeria and the United States of America have enjoyed cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest, especially in the promotion of good governance, sustainable development, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
“Nigeria therefore looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant strategic partnership for the benefit of all our people,” Ebienfa noted.
