On Friday, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) announced that it successfully recovered N4 billion within the last 24 hours.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the commission, Musa Aliyu while speaking at the one-day National Anti-Corruption Coalition (NACC) Members Hybrid Interactive Forum.
According to the ICPC boss, the fund was recovered from public officeholders who had stolen it from the coffers of the Nigerian government.
“However, I can tell you that in the last 24 hours, we have been able to recover N4 billion of public funds, which were diverted into private accounts,” Aliyu noted.
Aliyu assured Nigerians that to ensure that corruption is reduced to the barest minimum, the commission has made plans to deploy the use of Artificial Intelligence in its operations.
He added, “Technology can work wonders because it is not biased like humans. It can help us tackle challenges if we use it properly and effectively.”
He said that the ICPC is committed to bringing good governance in the country and would never succumb to any form of intimidation.
