The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, January 11, congratulated John Azuka-Mbata for his victory in the just-concluded Ohaneze Ndigbo President-general’s election.
Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary of the party in a statement said the former lawmaker’s election as the 13th president-general of the marks a significant milestone.
The party also congratulated Fidelis Chukwu, who stepped in to complete the tenure of the late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
A former senator and an indigene of Rivers State, Morka described Azukta-Mbata as an individual with a stellar public service record.
He also described the former lawmaker as one who has the interest of his Oriole at heart.
Morka added, “We assure the new leadership of Ohaneze Ndígbo of our party’s readiness to explore areas of partnership towards advancing development, shared prosperity, unity, peace and progress of our great country.
The APC wishes Senator Azuta-Mbata and the entire executive of Ohaneze Ndígbo a successful and remarkable tenure in the fulfilment of the organisation’s important mandate,” Morka said.
