The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has warned youths in the country to refrain from using the famous slogan ‘no gree for anybody’.
During a press briefing, the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said intelligence reports show that the catchphrase can plunge Nigeria into a crisis.
The ‘no gree for anybody’ catchphrase has gone viral on social media platforms and the streets.
The slang loosely means ‘do not tolerate any form of nonsense from anybody’ and has been adopted as a New Year resolution by many young Nigerians.
Adejobi said although the catchphrase is being seen as “normal talk”, but those in the security community view it as a “dangerous” slogan.
His words: “The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody’.
“We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector, which might likely cause problems across the country.
“No dey gree for anybody is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
