Another influential Lagos youth group has thrown its weight behind Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him as their preferred candidate for the Lagos governorship in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the Coalition of Lagos Indigenous Youth, Tunde Azeez, the group’s coordinator, expressed unwavering support for Seyi Tinubu, describing him as a “proud and industrious son of Lagos” and a “trailblazer dedicated to empowering young people.”
In their statement, the group emphasized Seyi’s connection to Lagos as both an indigene and a key player in youth development initiatives.
They declared, “We stand firmly behind Mr. Seyi Tinubu and will back him should he express interest in running for the office of governor of Lagos State.”
The endorsement adds to the growing calls from various organizations for Seyi Tinubu to continue his father’s legacy by stepping into a political role in Lagos.
Azeez highlighted Seyi Tinubu’s contributions to youth empowerment and community development, portraying him as a leader who embodies the aspirations of Lagos’s younger generation.
The coalition also issued a stern warning against groups they claim are falsely impersonating their name to spread defamatory statements about Seyi Tinubu.
“We will not tolerate any blackmail or false claims against Mr. Seyi Tinubu. If these defamatory acts persist, we will be forced to take legal action,” the group stated.
