The acting chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, Ekene Uzodimma, on Sunday, August 18, said the party is confident about winning the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the Enugu Local Government Council elections.
Speaking during the party’s Delegate Meeting and Primary Election on Sunday in Enugu, Uzodimma said the poll is already a work over for the party.
Recall the nugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), fixed Oct. 5 for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
The Enugu State’s acting chairman said that APGA under the leadership of Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman and Chekwas Okorie as the Chairman, Board of Trustees, was repositioned to take over key offices in Enugu and Nigeria.
His words, “So today, we are witnessing APGA primaries election as well as free and fair election that will produce credible candidates that will run for Councillorship and local government Chairmanship offices in Enugu.
“We are preparing for ourselves to present to Enugu people most credible, strategic and trained candidates that will bring about the needed change in accordance with the yearning of the people,” the acting chairman said.
Uzodimma assured the people of Enugu that the forthcoming election would be different compared to previous ones. He also said that APGA strongly believes that ENSIEC will be unbiased in the conduct of the election.
He added, “I want them to be a sincere and independent election umpire that allow free, fair and credible election.”
