The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its delight over the defection of the governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC in a statement issued on Wednesday said the decision of the governor to join the party alongside key politicians from Delta is highly welcomed.
Recall that Oborevwori decamped from the PDP to the APC alongside a former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa and other members of the PDP in the state.
Morka said the APC’s National Working Committee led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is elated over the decision of the Governor of Delta State.
“Our great Party welcomes this important development, and assures the Governor and incoming leaders and members of Delta PDP of our fullest cooperation and accommodation in the APC family,” Morka said.
He added that the action by the Delta governor has now placed the APC in a position to maximally contribute to the success and realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also said that Oborevwori defection would deliver great benefits to the people of Delta and Nigerians in general.
