President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration is doing everything possible to make the agricultural sector attractive for Nigerians and investors.
Speaking while delivering the 26th Democracy Day Speech at the National Assembly Complex on Thursday, June 12, the president said his administration is providing tractors and all machinery needed to improve agricultural industrialisation and production across the nation.
He also called on members of both arms of the legislature to support the efforts of his government towards achieving sustainable agriculture and food security for all, especially for the Nigerian youths.
He said, “These and other reforms have placed the economy on a more rational footing where critical decisions regarding the large-scale investment can now be made.”
According to the president, with the support of the lawmakers, the nation would be on the path of industrial development.
He also mentioned that such legislative support would help the government in its plan to create more jobs for Nigerians.
“We are making agriculture more sexy by providing tractors and I ask you, the legislature, to join me as we enter the second half of our term to put forth innovative legislation that further encourages industrial development and job creation in our urban centres while also drafting laws that improve food security and production,” Tinubu said.
