Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru has said that President Bola Tinubu has put all the security agencies and leader under pressure to end insecurity across the country.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Hausa, the minister said himself, the junior minister of defence, the service chiefs, the national security adviser, Nuhu Ribadau have been briefed on a recent analysis of the security situation in the country.

Badaru said, “We are under Tinubu’s pressure to end insecurity in Nigeria. He always inquires when the problem will end, because it is high time insecurity is tamed. We had a meeting with the president, the service chiefs and the national security advisor.

A lot was discussed. Mr president demanded the service chiefs to tell him when the problem would be brought to an end. They told him things would normalize by the end of the year,” he said.

He also stated that the service chiefs are quite decisive and committed to ending insecurity as they are all taking the needed measures to clamped down on terrorists, bandits and kidnappers across regions of the country.
