President Bola Tinubu has revealed details of his meeting with some traditional rulers at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, on Friday, June 9.
Politics Nigeria reports that Tinubu urged them to support his administration.
Tinubu posted this on his Twitter page hours after the closed-door meeting.
His words:
“I enjoyed my engagement, this morning, with a gathering of traditional rulers from across the country.
“In the course of our dialogue, I tasked them with supporting the administration’s efforts to ensure lasting peace and unity by promoting responsible behaviour and patriotism.”
Meanwhile, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi-Ojaja II, said traditional rulers are well-grounded in fighting insecurity in the country.
Ooni stated this when traditional rulers met the president, urging the federal government to engage monarchs across the country to assist the security agencies in defeating troublemakers.
