What We Told Buhari About COVID-19 In Aso Rock – Health Minister

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has revealed he met with President Muhammadu Buhari to give an update concerning the fight against the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the minister alongside Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), were at the presidential villa on Saturday.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Ehanire said they briefed Buhari on the necessary measures been taken to curb the spread of the disease in the country and the challenges facing the health sector.

Ehanire said: “It is to answer a few questions that His Excellency had about the health sector which we took the opportunity to explain further.

“The takeaway is that we have been able to clarify a few things in question regarding the state we are in on the coronavirus disease outbreak in Nigeria.

“Well, I explained those problems, the situation and what the projection would be going forward and the measures we think would be very necessary at this time.”
