Why FG should release Nnamdi Kanu – Okorocha

A former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has appealed to the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Okorocha gave the advice on Tuesday during the Tribute Session for Late Chief Mbazulike Amechi.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari should honour Chief Mbazulike by granting his last wish which was releasing the detained IPOB Leader.

“There is something we attach as Igbo culture, very important: when somebody makes a last request at the point of death.  And he (Amechi) requested, that the president should please not honour him in any way, but honour him by releasing his ‘son’, Nnamdi Kanu. That only request.

“Now that he is dead, he is no more alive, he made that request. May we honour him by bringing Nnamdi Kanu out for the purpose of peace in the Federal Republic of Nigeria?” Okorocha said.
