‘Why kill your own people?’ – 2023 presidential candidate laments over Anambra crisis

Kingsley Moghalu, a presidential aspirant in the coming 2023 Nigerian election, on Monday condemned the violence currently being experienced in Anambra State, in the southeastern region of the country.

It would be recalled yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Sunday set ablaze the offices of the Directorate of State Service (DSS) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nnewi, reportedly eaving two people dead on their trail.
Also set ablaze was the country home of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe who is based in Lagos.

Between Sunday 26th and 28th September, 2021, attacks on citizens at Oko, Agulu, Obosi, Nkpor, Nnobi, Nnewi and other places have left about 10 people dead, including an illustrious son of Anambra State, Dr Chike Akunyili, husband of late professor Dora Akunyili, who was gunned down last Tuesday around Nkpor. Moghalu is not happy with the current situation.

“I condemn very strongly the violence going on in Anambra state, be it politically or otherwise motivated. No one’s interest is served by the violence and there is no strategic benefit to killing your own people to make any point. The collective suffers. We need investigations,” Moghalu wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
