Why Nigeria is in a ‘state of anarchy’ – Islamic group

An Islamic Group, Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), has attributed the turbulence being experienced in Nigeria to the ‘denigration of the Holy Qur’an for political, wealth generation and other considerations of this mundane world’.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to a recent statement by Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the group’s Secretary-General, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, called on Nigerian Muslims to seriously intensify prayers for the restoration of law and order during Ramadan.

“Ritual killing has permeated the space, plucking or removal of body parts from their abodes at the grave-yards is increasing at an alarming rate, broken homes amongst the Muslim communities, over trivial circumstances, fetish beliefs cum idiosyncrasies have taken over the real religious doctrines and yet we claim to be Muslims.

“The most alarming of these absurd acts is the denigration of the Glorious Qur’an for political, wealth generation and other considerations of this mundane world,” the JNI’s statement reads.

Furthermore, the Sultan asked governments at all levels, and philanthropists, to assist in making life easy for the needy during Ramadan.
