A group, the Brave New Vision Support Group has called on the Peoples Democratic Party to ensure that the party’s 2027 presidential ticket is handed to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the convener of the group, Adetokunbo Pearse said Makinde needs the total support of PDP members, especially those from the Southwest region.
Pearse said the region must work towards ensuring that the Oyo state governor emerges as the 2027 presidential candidate for PDP.
He also urged the newly inaugurated committee in the zone to begin mobilisation for the governor’s presidential career.
Pearse said, “The primary objective of any political party is to win elections so that it can implement its policies to improve the quality of life for the electorate.”
According to him, the party leaders and members in the zone must ensure that PDP structures are strengthened ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Pearse further noted that Makinde remains PDP’s only option to victory in 2027.
“The zonal exco must hit the ground running and start collaborating and mobilising all regions behind Makinde to liberate the masses,” he added.
