Deji Adeyanju, a former youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Nigeria’s opposition party, ‘if serious’, should beg Demola Olarewaju to become the spokesperson of its Lagos chapter.
According to Adeyanju, PDP is not truly ready for opposition roles. He wondered why Olarewaju, a media strategist, is ‘struggling’ to win the PDP Publicity Secretary position (Lagos).
“@DemolaRewaju should be begged to become PDP spokesperson in Lagos if the party is serious. That he has to struggle in itself shows they are not ready to do opposition,” Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Lagos State PDP State Congress held last weekend, with a former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism in Lagos State, Philip Aivoji emerging the new chairman.
Olarewaju lost to Hakeem Amode, who was elected newly elected Publicity Secretary of the party. Speaking after the congress, Amode noted that the outcome of the congress was a new beginning for Lagos PDP. He said the new executives were looking forward to the challenges the victory would bring.
The party’s congress produced the newly elected state executives.
