Why Southeast should produce president in 2023 – Edwin Clark

Elder statesman, Edwin Clark has argued that the Southeast region of Nigeria should produce president in 2023 because they have never been at the helm of affairs since the advent of Democracy in Nigeria in 1999.

Clark made a case for the Southeast in an interview with Arise News on Thursday, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA.

“I have said Southeast have not got it. Therefore, in fairness to them, let them get it. Being part of this country, they should produce the next president. Not because they are Igbo, not because they are Southeast, but because they are part of this country,” Clark, from the Southsouth region, said.

According to him, after the civil war, General Yakubu Gowan announced that there was no victor no vanquish.

He wondered what had happened to that declaration if the people of South-East are denied the Presidency.

He maintained that every part of the country has had a fair share of tasting political power at the Presidency except the South-East.

THE STATEMENT ABOVE BY A PURPORTED UNDESERVING ELDER STATESMAN IS THE MOST UNTRUTHFUL AND DISINGENOUS SPOUT BY ANYONE DEAD OR ALIVE. THIS FURTHER STRENTHENS THE FACT THAT THESE CROP OF SEEMING ELDERS HAVE MISLED US FOR TOO LONG AND TOO MUCH.
The South-east already had its fair share of the presidency of Nigeria and no major tribal group can claim not to have. Even the minority group in Nigeria have been represented by Jonathan, an Izon man.

The SE had their shots at different times represented by Nnamdi Azikwe and Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi. One a civilian president and the later as military head of state. Including, Dr Alex Ekpueme as VP in the civilian presidency of Shehu Shagari.

THE LIKES OF Edwin Clark SHOULD STOP FANNING THE EMBERS OF DISCORD IN THE COUNTRY. YOU WILL RECALL HE EVEN EXPRESSED PREFERENCE FOR THE CURRENT VP, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT.

What does this tell us about this personality? A double speak tongue-in-cheek man does not qualify as an elder statesman.
