Hajiya Zainab Garba, the wife of Niger State Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, has passed away.
She died on Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness at a government hospital in Minna, the state capital.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, confirmed the news in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.
Governor Bago expressed his condolences, describing Hajiya Zainab’s death as a significant loss to the north-central state.
The family of the deputy governor is expected to announce her funeral details anytime soon.
