
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike delighted onlookers with an impromptu dance display on Tuesday as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu formally inaugurated the refurbished Abuja International Conference Centre, now renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The ceremony, held at the heart of the nation’s capital, began with President Tinubu delivering remarks on the centre’s upgraded facilities, lauding the venue as a “beacon for Nigeria’s emerging global engagements.” He expressed gratitude to the FCT Ministry for steering the renovation project to completion within schedule and budget.
Following the President’s address, Minister Wike displayed celebratory steps that drew applause from invited guests. Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other dignitaries joined in the ovation as Wike’s lighthearted moment underscored the day’s festive atmosphere.
The revamped complex boasts expanded exhibition halls, state‑of‑the‑art meeting rooms and a modern media centre, all designed to attract international summits and major cultural events. With its new name, the centre is set to become a hallmark venue for diplomatic and corporate gatherings in Abuja and beyond.
