Wike gets loud ovation as ministers prostrate, kneel before Tinubu at swearing-in ceremony (videos)

Shuaibu Audu, the newly sworn-in minister of steel development, prostrated on Monday, August 21, before President Bola Tinubu shortly after he took his oath of office.

Audu, the son of the late Kogi State Governor Prince Abubakar Audu, went down to lay flat before shaking hands with the president.

Another newly sworn-in minister (Tourism), Lola Ade-John, was also captured kneeling before President Tinubu.

Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers state, received the loudest ovation during the swearing-in of the ministers-designate at the banquet hall of the presidential villa.

The drama started when Presidential media aide Ajuri Ngelale, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, introduced Wike as “minister-designate from the great Rivers state”.

Applause and raucous laughter erupted in the hall afterwards as Wike tried to suppress a smile.
