The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, met again in Abuja on Sunday as the group continues its push to reorganise its internal structure and reclaim stability within the opposition party.

The gathering, which brought together key members of its Board of Trustees (BoT), focused on strategies to revive confidence among supporters and address lingering disputes in several state chapters.

The meeting was presided over by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who currently serves as the BoT Chairman for the faction.

He told members that the forum is determined to rebuild bridges within the party and close the gaps that have slowed the PDP’s operations in recent months.

Ohuabunwa stressed that resolving internal disagreements was not just necessary but urgent, especially as the party prepares for future electoral contests.

During his remarks, Ohuabunwa highlighted a number of actions the group plans to pursue in the coming weeks.

According to him, the main priorities include completing congresses in states where they are yet to hold, strengthening existing party structures, and ensuring that all levels of leadership work together more efficiently.

He explained that these steps form the foundation for restoring discipline and trust.

“By holding timely congresses and reinforcing organizational discipline, the PDP hopes to rebuild trust among members and present a more organized and credible front ahead of future elections,” he said.

Members who attended the session also discussed concerns raised by supporters over the prolonged leadership tussles affecting the party at the national level.

Several attendees insisted that the faction must maintain communication with stakeholders across the country to prevent further divisions and to reassure loyalists that the PDP is working toward a united direction.

Sunday’s meeting reportedly ended with a renewed commitment to reposition the faction and strengthen its relevance ahead of upcoming political engagements.

The BoT is expected to release more directives as consultations continue.
