The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike’s involvement in politics is not affecting his job as a minister, his media aide, Lere Olayinka has said.
Speaking during an interview with Arise Television, Olayinka said the minister can be referred to as one of the best-performing public officeholders in the country.
He noted that since assuming office, Wike has approved and supervised several projects out of which 17 would be commissioned soon.
“The question that I want to ask is, how has this stopped the minister from performing his duties?” Olayinja queried.
According to him, President Bola Tinububwould personally commission 10 projects of the FCTA between June 10 and July 3.
His words, “From June 10 to July 3, 17 projects would be commissioned by the president of Nigeria. Those projects were done by the Federal Capital Territory Administration led by Wike.
“Seventeen projects and we are starting June 10, and it will go on for 17 days and 10 of those projects would be personally commissioned by the president,” he added.
Olayinka stated that being a politician cannot prevent one from performing their responsibilities.
“So all this one politics, you play it, then your job, you’ll do it.
“Politics as you look at it has not in any way affected the job of the minister and you can attest to it, expect people who would not want to say the truth,” he noted.
