The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike, has sparked a debate on social media with his recent outfit.
The former governor of Rivers State was spotted wearing a blue street-style coat, reportedly worth millions of naira, to work on Monday.
The coat, designed by the luxury brand Versace, has been priced at £1499 (N2,910,121) and €2120 (3,489,289) by online stores, according to social media users.
This extravagant cost has raised eyebrows among many who question the necessity of such an expensive outfit.
While some have criticized the coat as overly extravagant and a misplacement of priorities, others have taken a more humorous approach, joking that it must have been sewn by a tailor from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s faction, with whom Wike is at odds over a reported political control in the state.
