Houston-based sociopolitical organisation, World Igbo Congress (WIC), on Wednesday blamed the reign of terror in Nigeria’s southeast region on Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that relative peace enjoyed by the inhabitants of the Southeast region of the country is fast fizzling out as attacks on security agents and their facilities have assumed a worrisome dimension in the last three months.
Many security agents, particularly policemen, have been brutally murdered in Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi states during attacks by gunmen who usually operate in large numbers.
The development has become a cause for concern among the people of the zone.
“Southeast was relatively peaceful until the Fulani-led Nigeria Supreme Court brought in Hope Uzodimma from fourth place to become the governor of the State.
“The Fulani did this to set the ground for the killings and kidnappings today. Time to stop HOPE from killing opponents,” WIC wrote on its official Twitter handle.
