‘Yahoo-Yahoo Govt’ – Sowore Slams Tinubu over Subsidy Removal, Palliative

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the last elections, Omoyele Sowore, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as a “Yahoo Yahoo” government.

An emotionally angry Sowore made the remark while condemning the idea of subsidy removal and the subsequent palliative proposed by the federal government of Nigeria.

The activist wondered what the federal government has done with the money they got since the removal of fuel subsidy, maintaining that they are yet to build a single road.

Addressing a few persons in Abuja, Sowore noted that Tinubu’s family would be among the richest in the world at the end of his four years tenure.

“This Tinubu’s government is ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ government, his family will be the richest in the world by the time he does four years as president. This is not our government, and we have agreed to liberate this country,” he said.

“Palliatives is an insult on the people. The problem with this subsidy is that the people known by the government are the ones stealing the money. They are all lying and that subsidy is not good for Nigerians, subsidy is the only thing that Nigerians enjoy, and they themselves are following it up.”

Sowore also disclosed that all his predictions since 2019 have come to pass and wondered how the government can help someone build a refinery when they cannot repair its own.

He queried the money Dangote used in building his refinery and alleged that it came from the same Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that claimed it can manage refineries.
