Yobe: Buni Swears in Perm Secs, Auditor General, Others

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has on Wednesday sworn-in two Permanent Secretaries, Commission Chairmen, Auditor General and Board Permanent Members respectively in the state.

The permanent secretaries appointed are Ibrahim Adamu Jajere of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

Mohammed Inuwa Gulani of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

Mai Aliyu Umar Gulani as the Auditor-General of the State.

The swearing in ceremony took place at the WAWA hall of the government house, Damaturu.

Speaking to the press after the swearing in, governor Mai Mala Buni said the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and other senior government officials would contribute immensely and add value to good governance, ensure good service delivery agenda of the present administration in the state.

Governor Buni stated that the officers were carefully selected and appointed based on merit, wealth of experience, integrity, diligence, and loyalty.

Governor Buni urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to discharge their duties with extra commitments and to support the present administration to serve the people of Yobe state diligently and successfully.

He said:“To the chairman and Permanent Commissioners of the Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Sule Ado, Alhaji Waziri Yerima, Malam Kyari Batarama, Alhaji Jibrin Babale, Alhaji Muhammed Kondoma and Hajiya Aisha Haruna Godowoli respectively, you have great roles to play to institute discipline and improve efficiency in local government administration to raise the standard of service delivery at the grassroots.

“Let me state with a sense of satisfaction that Yobe State has performed creditably well in Hajj operations in the previous years.

“Indeed, we have become a role model in Hajj operations in Nigeria. Therefore, much is expected from Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, the Chairman and Alhaji Adam Arjo Kayeri member of the Hajj Commission to contribute selflessly to further improve our already high-ranking performance.

“As you are aware, Yobe State is today adjudged the second-best state in Sub-national Audit Efficacy index in Nigeria, the appointment of Mai Aliyu Umar Gulani, a thorough-bred professional as the Auditor-General of the state, is expected to improve the performance of Yobe State to become the best state in Nigeria.

Governor Buni revealed that the appointment of Alhaji Abbani Gambo as a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission; Alhaji Wakil Maina Machina Permanent Member of the Civil Service Commission; and Alhaji Ballama Budu Permanent Member Teaching Service Board, would be advantageous to the respective departments.

“As l congratulate you all, l equally urge you to abide by the oath of office and oath of allegiance administered to you a few moments ago.

“You should dedicate yourselves to the responsibilities of your offices, and contribute to the success of our administration,” Governor Buni added.
