The spokesperson of the immediate past governor of Zamfara, Comrade Abdullah Anas Kaura, has called for the resignation of Governor Dauda Lawal, alleging that the state was facing turbulent times due to his ‘inept leadership’.
Kaura urged Governor Lawal to step down promptly and alleged that non-indigenous individuals, acting as cabals, are in control of Zamfara’s affairs, contributing to a high level of insecurity in the region.
In a statement signed by him, the spokesperson also highlighted the level of poverty being experienced by the Zamfara people and counselled that the governor should take immediate action to address the escalating poverty and insecurity issues within the state.
“By adopting strategies used during the previous administration, the current administration in Zamfara State has a significant opportunity to tackle poverty and insecurity effectively,” Kaura suggested.
He also expressed deep concern over alleged rising poverty and delayed salary payments in the state.
Kaura also noted the numerous kidnappings and killings during the brief duration of Lawal’s administration.
