“You cannot determine Ayu’s fate” – Top PDP member fires Wike

Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is not as powerful as he portrays himself.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Osadolor said the restraining order which forbade Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party, was “instigated by state actors through puppets executives in his wards”. He deemed it unconstitutional.

It would be recalled that a Makurdi High Court in Benue State recently issued an interim injunction restraining Ayu from parading himself as the PDP national chairman. The order came a day after Ayu was suspended by the executive committee of his native Igyorov Ward in the Gboko Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue.

Speaking to Punch in an interview published on Monday, Osadolor tackled Ayu’s nemesis, Governor Wike.

He said: “The restraining order was purported, it wasn’t given on the strength of his suspension but instigated by state actors through puppets executives in his wards which has no place in the constitution of the PDP. I mean people who have no right in the constitution of the PDP to suspend the national officers were arrogating themselves powers that they didn’t have.

“Gov Wike cannot determine the fate of Senator Ayu. The man he brought to distract the party who happened to be his fellow governor all lost in their bids to go to the Senate. Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi all lost. He should have saved them if he is that powerful.”
