The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has commended the defection plan by Governor Umo Eno.
The party in a statement issued by Iniobong John, that the DG of the party’s media network described Uno’s defection from PDP to APC as a strategic move.
John said with Eno’s defection, Akwa Ibom state will now be aligned with the power at the national level to the benefit of the people of the state.
He stated that the action of the governor will also solidify the level of partnership needed between the people and the Nigerian Senate through the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
According to John, Eno will now be able to attract democratic dividends in the state.
“A notable example is the much-anticipated Ibom Deep Seaport project, which is expected to become a reality before the end of 2031.
“As the gubernatorial candidate of our great party, Governor Eno’s re-election would be a foregone conclusion,” John said.
While welcoming the governor to the APC, the party’s leadership said it cannot wait to work with Eno for the development of the party.
