About 9, 000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the defectors were led by the daughter of a popular Islamic cleric, late Sheikh Isyaka Rubiu, Umma Salama Isyaka Rabiu.

Speaking on Sunday at a special event she hosted in Kano, Umma Salama said: “Today, we gathered here today, to celebrate these 10,000 people, who made a decision to leave their various political parties for our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“These are all card-carrying members of the PDP, NNPC, ADC, PRP, ADP and other political parties, who have decided to leave darkness for light, to leave regression for progress to leave fear and intimidation for honour and integrity.

“As you can see today, these people are today to delineate the unity and progress of the APC as the one and only party in Nigeria.

“The party that has the interest of the people, the party that wants to keep making Nigeria better and the party that loves Nigeria and Nigerians.”

  1. This story is damn too funny to behold. Rabid Musa Kwankwaso just wants to boost his bargaining power in this election. He just feels he is lucky because Kano State is seen as one of the swing states in Nigerian election he now feels he can use it to negotiate.
NNPP as a party does not have party offices nor candidates in most of the states of the country therefore where lies his strength to contest with people like Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and the old BAT Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC. Even Peter Obi who is a very strong contender has not boasted of such converts within the blinking of an eye. If 9000 people can decamp from PDP and pitch their tent with the NNPP then something is wrong somewhere. They dhould stop this their inflation of numbers please. It does not pay anybody any good.
