Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, has said that a vote of a mentally-challenged person is equivalent to that of an individual in the status of the Alaafin of Oyo.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said this recently when he visited Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the immediate past leader of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Political Group, Afenifere, in Akure, Ondo State capital.
“To my colleagues, my politicians around here, you are good. The celebration is yours, the confidence is yours, the promise is yours, the hope is yours.
“Let us keep on working. ‘Lagbaja bumi lana o si ninue (don’t act negatively to critics because they insulted you in the past). A madman’s vote is equal to Alaafin’s vote. One is one, one ballot is one ballot.
“So, please know how to treat them,” Tinubu said.
