The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has said the party is convinced the values put on its forms in respect of the 2023 elections “are justified.”
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Morka said this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night, hours after the APC fixed the cost of its presidential expression of interest and nomination forms at N100 million.
For the governorship ticket, APC National Executive Committee (NEC) approved N50 million for both nomination and expression of interest forms, while Senate and House of Representatives aspirants are to pay N20 million and N10 million respectively.
Aspirants for state legislative seats are to pay N2 million for both forms.
Meanwhile, the NEC approved a 50 percent reduction in the price of nomination forms for individuals under 40 years of age, and free tickets for women and persons living with disabilities.
The prices of the APC forms have caused furious reactions on social media, with many Nigerians positing that it is outrageous and corruption- inclined.
When asked if his party thinks that the form fee is exorbitant, Morka replied, “The party thinks that, and makes a decision that the values put on these forms are justified.”
