2023: Hundreds of Dogara’s kinsmen declare support for Tinubu [PICS]

Hundreds of constituents of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, have declared their support for the presidential flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Dogara’s kinsmen, the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party should not be a factor in the 2023 general election.

Dogara, who represents the Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, has been one of the leading voices in the country opposing the same-faith ticket of the APC.

Not satisfied with his party’s decision, he dumped the APC and returned to the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he expressed support for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

But on Thursday, his kinsmen from the three Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Dass, Tafawa Balewa, and Bogoro, which make up his constituency, held a rally to show their support for Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

“We are here today as Christians from this constituency to declare that we have decided collectively to support the Jagaban Nigeria. We have endorsed all APC candidates.

“Our resolution is borne out of several factors, a few of which include the fact that Jagaban, as the governor of Lagos State, was able to raise men who are Nigerians. Jagaban alone is an institution.

“He also has a wife who is a Christian, and he is a Muslim,” Godfrey Manasseh, one of the decampees, said.
