Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, on Thursday described Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as a cross between South East and South South geopolitical zones.
POLITICS NIGERIA had earlier reported that Okowa emerged as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Okowa’s nomination was officially announced and confirmed by Atiku himself at an unveiling event of his running mate held in Abuja.
Atiku said he chose Okowa as his running mate because he is ‘a fighter who has mastered the art of politics’, adding that the Delta State Governor has steadily risen to prominence in his state, Delta and PDP as well.
For Sani, Okowa was instrumental to Atiku’s victory at the PDP presidential primary election in May.
“Okowa played a key role in the victory of Atiku at the primaries and he is a cross between the South East and the South South,” Sani wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
