2023: “Opposition elders don’t want to die in peace” – Adamu Garba

The Deputy Director of the new media and member of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Election Management committee of Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (ICC), Adamu Garba, has said that elder statesmen who antagonise the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) “want to die as revolutionaries, not in peace”.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo are opposed to the APC continuing in power in 2023.

Both elder statesmen have publicly endorsed the candidacy of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Recently, Pa Adebanjo said Nigeria “will be in trouble” if the electorate elects anyone outside Obi.

Garba is unhappy with these elders’ stance.

“In case you’re not following, some of the opposition elders want to use the #EndSars energy to create chaos should they fail to take control of power through proxy in the coming election.

“They want to die as revolutionaries, not in peace. But our votes will retire them in peace,” Garba wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Monday night.

  1. The elder state men who have been bold enough to speak out on this evil reign of APC will witness the death and burial of Adamu Garba. When children committed sacrilege they don’t know. Death is very far but if a child use long stick to pluck it out , it will not fail to kill the child because he is a child.
