As the 2023 general election inches closer, Isaac Fayose, younger brother to ex-Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is “officially dead” in Lagos State and the Southwest geopolitical zone.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Fayose was reacting to the alleged commotion between PDP members in Lagos State on Sunday.

It was alleged that some PDP supporters told Bode George, a PDP leader in Lagos State, and his visitors (the aggrieved five governors otherwise known as G-5) that they are voting for Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election.

This reportedly happened when George asked them not to vote for Atiku and Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor. Jandor is the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Lagos State and is presently not on good terms with George.

“PDP officially dead in southwest and Lagos!! Buried yesterday,” Fayose wrote on his known Facebook page with an accompanying video of a supporter of Atiku criticising the PDP candidate’s antagonists.

  1. You people are politicians but I see political matters ahead of you.
PDP died the very day Atiku Abubarkari bought pdp flag bearer. He thinks that PDP are bunch of fools. But today it will be down to him that he has played himself out.

  2. PDP has been a very formidable and promising party that one would have expected a performance that would see it through many uphills in the country. The Party’s travail within the period it reigned and now spoke so much of its stupendous character and especially ability to deliver. However, as would be seen in Nigeria, the party got out of itself and with a little misunderstanding and misdemeanor lost to the APC a party that has been in power int he last seven years or so.
In the real sense, there’s no doubt that the PDP is not a good opposition party neither is the APC a good rulling party .
I wish the situation could be turned around again but from the look of things only the army could really interprete the country’s political saga. Things have fallen apart, the falcon can not hear the falconer, mere anarchy is loosed upon the nation.
APC has wounded Nigeria. PDP is battling for life. LP is just revolving round the obvious. Gid help Nigeria.

  3. Ever since PDP lost presidency to APC, PDP has been facing internal wrangling and this has been the cog in its wheel.PDP is known to be a party of Impunity. Internal conflict cost PDP defeat in 2015 and the history will repeat itself in 2023. The Umbrella has torn to rag and the house that divided against itself must collapse

  4. PDP can not rule Nigeria anymore because of atiku greediness. In 2019, he said it’s North turn but now he said president can come from any zone. Nothing like rotation of power. His desperation cause trouble for pdp.
