2023 presidency: Jonathan told to reject APC ticket offer

As the 2023 general elections approaches, one of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Moses Ayom, has advised former president Goodluck Jonathan not to bow to pressure to join party and seek its presidential ticket.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Ayom, APC politicians putting pressure on Jonathan are “wicked”.

Details emerged on Tuesday night that some APC stakeholders convinced President Muhammadu Buhari to buy into the Jonathan project.

According to sources, if the plan goes right, Jonathan will serve for one term and hand over to his vice, a northerner from the North-East geopolitical zone.

“I advise him not to cave into the pressure of the wicked, who are heartless and insensitive to people’s plight,” Ayom said, according to Vanguard.

In the past few weeks, the rumours that Jonathan can defect to the APC to dream of being president in 2023 has intensified.

The 64-year-old, who served as the President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, has asked his supporters to “watch out”.
