2023 Presidency: Tinubu Support Group to kick off in October

The Tinubu support group is set to begin operations in October 2021.

According to Rep. James Faleke (APC-Lagos), the support group for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition will take off in October.

Faleke disclosed this during the inauguration of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), on Saturday in Abuja.

“Tinubu Support Group will be inaugurated in October and I urge you to be fully on ground in your states so that you can be a contact person,” Faleke told the women.

He commended AWCS for persuading Tinubu to contest the presidential election, and expressed excitement at their support saying women should not be ignored at elections because they constituted a great number of voters.

“This is a selfless goal and an instinct from your leader which prompted her to canvass support for Asiwaju’s presidency in 2023. We must all register in our various wards as a card carrying members of our party; that is the only thing you can do to make Asiwaju the president of Nigeria,” Faleke said

He noted that Tinubu remained the only person that could pilot the affairs of the country, adding that his achievement as Lagos State governor was a testament.

“You can be sure that if Tinubu did great in Lagos State as governor and leader, he will do more for the country,”, he stressed.

Faleke said the message of the group would be communicated to Tinubu and his support could be guaranteed. He said other presidential hopefuls were qualified, but that Tinubu was more qualified.

“He has the support base in every state. He has legacies. He has made leaders. If he is not available, you think he is available. That is the man we want. He does not care whether you are a Muslim or Christian; he doesn’t care whether you are rich or poor.”

“His door is open to all. So what we can do is to honour him and ensure that he succeeds and becomes Nigeria president,” Faleke also said.

Faleke later donated N1million to the group, saying it was a seed to serve as take-off grant for AWCS.

In her remarks, Rep. Miriam Onuoah (APC-Imo) also urged AWCS to champion the possibility of Tinubu becoming Nigeria’s president, stressing that their support would go a long way. She commended the initiative, stressing that it would help to power women.

Responding, Mrs Toyin Badmus, Chairman, AWCS, said the group’s mission was to create awareness at the grassroots level for Asiwaju Tinubu on the need to support women for entrepreneurship.

“Our mission is to be able to set up a food bank in each of the 774 local government areas of the country so that the poorest of the poor can have access to food.”

“Our cooperative will ensure that women will be able to borrow money and pay as low as one per cent interest rate, which is for administrative charges. This will go a long way,” she said.
