2023 presidency: Wike opens up on running to negotiate for VP

Rivers State governor and presidential aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday said that he is not interested in the Vice-President position of Nigeria, rather he is eyeing the presidency in 2023, because he is worth it.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Wike was speaking in Calabar, Cross River State.

“Let be known, I’m not running to negotiate for vice president, I’m running to be the president of Nigeria, I have not collected senate form for anyone to hold for me, I’m not collecting any other form, the only for I have collected is presidential form and I will win,” he said.

Other PDP presidential aspirants include erstwhile Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State; Mohammed Hayatu-Deen; Anyim Pius Anyim, a former President of the Senate; a former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi; and industrialist, Sam Ohuabunwa.

The national working committee (NWC) of the PDP has proposed April 30 for its presidential primary election.
