Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Isaac Fayose, younger brother of Ekiti state former governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said Nigeria’s next president must be from the southern part of the country.
“South lokan…” Fayose said tersely via his known Facebook page recently.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that earlier, in June, Isaac’s brother, Ayodele Fayose, also demanded that a southerner must succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Fayose is a member of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar — a northerner — is the presidential candidate of the party.
The former Ekiti governor was one of the presidential aspirants who contested the primary of the opposition party in May.
At the PDP presidential primary, Fayose was unable to secure the mandate of the 16 Ekiti delegates — and as such, he secured no vote.
