Former New Media Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Adeyanju, on Sunday said Bola Tinubu’s choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, is a very strong ticket, as it “will naturally deliver Borno State to him”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2023 polls, Tinubu, has confirmed Shettima as his running mate.
Shettima played a lead role in the pre-presidential primaries campaign of Tinubu.
Shettima, the representative of Borno Central Senatorial District, was a former two-term Governor of Borno State.
The 55-year-old will replace Kabiru Masari, whose name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ‘place-holding’ capacity.
Reacting to the news, Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle: “Tinubu’s pick of Shettima is a very strong ticket. His VP pick will naturally deliver Borno state to him.”
